A.A Milne (cited in Gronvall 2017) once wrote: "I suppose that every one of us hopes secretly for immortality."
I greatly appreciate that Hollywood finally makes movies about the legends stand behind these immortal characters. Now the authors are not anonymously famous anymore, they are as well-known as their most cherished creations.
To put in a nutshell, Goodbye Christopher Robin, My boy Jack, Saving Mr. Banks and Finding Neverland are touching and worth watching. Their ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb are high and they received positive critics. Try all four films, and you will be amused like me!
Little add-ons for history fans:
According to History vs Hollywood, Mary Poppins author P.L Travers and Peter Pan author J.M Barrie shared a connection. Besides the similarities of the two fictional characters, Peter Davies (the inspiration for Peter Pan) was the publisher of Travers' books.
Little add-ons for movie fans:
You will soon meet Winnie the Pooh and Mary Poppins on the big screen again! Disney is going to release the movie Christopher Robin on August 3rd. I feel that this movie seems to be a sequel to Goodbye Christopher Robin, where he would have a happier ending than in his real life.

Mary Poppins returns will be released soon, also by Disney. I am looking forward to see this film, but I wonder if P.L Travers is happy to see her beloved character on screen again.
